Using iron on interfacing to make a patchwork:
I’ve seen this process on my trips around the World Wide Web and wanted to try it out and see for myself if it is as straightforward as it seems to be … and guess what? It is!
Making a patchwork from a charm pack is super easy with the help of some lightweight iron on interfacing.
I used the Lyda Rose charm pack for this and picked out a few coordinating patterns and colours then I cut them into quarters – I used 20 2 1/2 inch squares for my panel.

Then I ironed them onto a lightweight iron on interfacing. So far so good!

Next up was the sewing and this was the really quick and simple part. I folded each row over and stitched with a 1/4inch seam allowance.

Then, I snipped each seam where I was going to stitch across.

… and repeated folding and stitching in the other direction

Then I ironed my piece making sure all my seams and joints were lying flat

And my patchwork was ready to place onto batting and machine quilt

The whole process took next to no time and I was so pleased with the results as each square was joined up perfectly!
I used my quilted panel to make a zipped pouch and I absolutely love it!
